Cover and pictoral for issue 7 of Licked Magazine, released today. They are giving away the digital version free for Xmas here.. http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/490156 ;)
We shot these at the Linda Vista Hospital; an absolutely amazing location I was previously unaware of but turns out is only 3 miles from where I live! This the same boiler room where A Nightmare on Elm Streetwas filmed. So cool! We spent a total of 5 hours there but could easily have been there all week and still not shot everywhere. There were so many rooms and areas it was hard to take it all in. They even have a fake morgue used for movies (the real one was locked up and not accessible to the public), which was one of the only places that was relatively clean and not covered in dust. Getting in and out of latex outfits without staining them with dirt was a challenge!
As you can possibly tell, one of the reasons I love shooting on location is the ability to climb around, hang off things and generally be a modelling monkey ;p
Candy Circusy butt of doom for Westward Bound latex. Wearing some of my Ellie Shoes heel-less boots <3
Westward Bound’s new collection is released today, these are just a few of my fav pieces from the stuff I modelled :)
Photography by SH Photo, outfit from Westward Bound’s soon-to-be-released 2013 collection. Shot at my place! :)
More from that last shoot with S H Photo wearing new Westward Bound dress. The collar in the second pic is by Eirik Aswang. I modelled it for a Horror themed fashion show over a year ago and it somehow ended up left in my studio for the past year, I guess Eirik hasn’t needed it for a while! :p
I’m trying to get back into doing ‘proper’ blog posts.. I used to keep an in-depth blog about everything that I was up to but Facebook, Twitter et al have made me a bit lazy; it’s so much easier just to instantly upload pics while I’m travelling, with the promise to myself that I’ll do the accompanying blog later the same day! But this year has been particularly busy for me (in a good way!) and the blog posts got a bit left behind. I suspect I’m never going to catch up on the backlog of what I’ve already done the past few months but I’m going to make a better effort from now on for new and current things! :)
So, I just got back from 3 weeks of shooting pretty much every day in New York and Florida (which does actually merit a blog entry of it’s own, it was pretty eventful! I’ll get on that soon!). I wasn’t even back in LA for one day before I was whisked off for the weekend to celebrate my birthday, with only a couple of days to recover from that before it was back to work!
Today saw me shooting 8 or 9 outfits for Westward Bound’s new collection with Allan Amato. LA is in a heatwave right now so latex is not exactly the easiest of things to be wearing, especially in our studio, where even the new A/C unit was struggling to keep the room at a bearable temperature. I pretty much had to give up on wiping away the sweat that kept dripping down my legs ><. Luckily/miraculously for me, I never seem to get much sweat/shine on my face even when the rest of my body is dripping, so I managed to not look half as uncomfortable as I felt in the photos!
The collection is being released around September (I think), but for now here are a couple of behind-the-scenes snapshots - another thing that I’m trying to remember to do more of! :)
